Done For the Day

We made it 338 miles in 5:43 hours.

The storm outside is intense. There is a severe winter weather advisory for the area, a massive pile-up on the highway and pretty much zero visibility on the road.

The wind is blowing so hard you can barely hear yourself think.

We have checked into a Best Western in the tiny town of Vega, TX after not moving for about 30 minutes. The heat seems to be working OK, but we brought in an extra blanket just in case.

We could probably have gutted it out through the storm, but we may need a new battery in the car, so it's not worth taking any chances.

We're going to settle in and find something to eat. I'll post a final wrap up later.

We'll make up the difference tomorrow.
